Maternity and Newborn FAQ

I. How many weeks pregnant should I be for a maternity session?

I typically recommend anywhere from 26-32 weeks. Just enough for a noticeable bump, but not too late to where you feel uncomfortable!

II. When do you do newborn sessions?

I like to give momma about a week of recovery, and try to do the session between 1-3.5 weeks. The first week is so turbulent no matter how many babies you've had, so that extra bit of rest really helps make our session feel more relaxed and joyful!

III. What kind of experience do you have posing babies?

I have taken many classes, but I like to stick to safe and more natural poses. As a mom to 3, their little bodies may seem super flexible, but unnatural positions are still risky. I keep things safe and let baby lead!

IV. I want a mix of lifestyle and studio newborn. Can you do that?

Yes! I typically recommend just one or two "sets" for the studio style shots, and help you plan out our session to best fit your vision and goals.

V. What if you don't have a design or prop I want to use?

I am always adding to my stash of props, backdrops, and more. I'm very happy to help you find what you desire to add to my collection!
